ED'S WORD

Gozo Plus has silently celebrated its first birthday, and today we are very happy to be able to present to you another issue. The magazine, which is well-known in the Gozitan community by now, is not published as frequently and regularly as we would like. This is mainly due to the fact that we give much consideration to our contributors and sponsors. Let me give you just a few highlights of what we deliver to your home in this edition.

We are obviously especially proud to feature the one personality, who everyone has been talking about in Gozo since last January: His Excellency Mons. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo. In spite of his extremely hectic life he kindly welcomed Charmaine Attard into his office at the Curia for an interview.

On a completely different note, my personal favourite in this issue is the feature introducing to you the Gozitan duo Chasing Pandora. Starting out as merely an article on my “to-do” list, it has turned me into a fan instantly! Their enchanting musical style appeals to many different age groups. Having been nominated in the category of Best Newcomers for this year’s Bay Music Awards could be considered this year’s highlight for them; you can help Melissa and Keith to achieve this goal by sending an SMS containing “Chasing Pandora” to 5061 6890.

The first Advent candle having been lit on Sunday, Christmas is practically on our doorsteps. I hope that you will find some quiet times amidst your hectic preparations, to sit down with a cuppa and enjoy our magazine.

Oh, and the popular Christmas Market is going to be held in Nadur’s Main Square, between the 7th and 10th December. If you were showered by the heavy rains last year, fear not: this year all the Christmassy gifts, food and drink are offered under a big tent!

In the name of the Gozo Plus team I wish you a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
